Treatment options discussed with users may not be covered by their health insurance plan and NCF is not deemed liable for discussing the option. NCF will not communicate with any other interested parties (your doctor,your employer, your insurance company, your spouse, child, etc.) NCF will only communicate directly with you. It is possible that your spouse can register and create an account and we will communicate directly with your spouse in that manner. The exception will be telephone consultations. With the permission of the patient, we will communicate with all interested parties at the same time during a telephone consultation.
We do not navigate for pediatric cancer and therefore, no one under the age of 18 is able to register.
If you think you may have a medical emergency, call your doctor or 911 immediately.
To register with NCF, you will create your own login and password. This ensures your confidentiality- only you can access your account. All communication is done within your account.
Your health profile is maintained inside your personal account. Communicating with a NCF Navigator will only be done within your account.
You are able to modify, update or correct your information at any time once you are logged in and on your personal page. By using or accessing NavigateCancer Foundations’s website you are consenting to having your health information viewed by the NavigateCancer Foundation’s navigation team.
We encourage you to refer to this policy and our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices on an ongoing basis to stay up-to-date on the latest policy revisions. NavigateCancer Foundation ("NCF") may revise and update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Your continued usage of NCF services ("NCF Site," or the "Site,") will mean you accept those changes.
Information by “E-mail”
E-mail by its very nature is not secure. E-mails will be sent to you notifying you that your account has been updated- that your questions have been answered. You will then be instructed to login to your account for the answer. E-mails sent to you will not contain health information.
E-mail can be intercepted. Copies of e-mails may be stored on the computer that you are working from. Work e-mail is owned and monitored by the business. Therefore, please do not send any personal information by e-mail that you would be uncomfortable sharing with others. Please use our account management system via your personal login to access your private home page where all of your communications will be housed.
Changing or Removing Information
You can update your health profile at any time. You can do this by accessing your account and clicking on the “update” button. The health profile will be updated instantly.
If you cannot recall your login or password, we will direct you to a web page that will help provide you with a reminder or an opportunity to reset your account. Passwords will not be emailed to you.
NCF has several tools that allow you to record and store information. You are responsible for taking all reasonable steps to ensure that no unauthorized person shall have access to your NCF passwords or accounts. It is your sole responsibility to (1) control the dissemination and use of activation codes and passwords; (2) authorize, monitor, and control access to and use of your NCF account and password; (3) promptly inform NCF of any need to deactivate a password. You grant NCF and all other persons or entities involved in the operation of the Site the right to transmit, monitor, retrieve, store, and use your information in connection with the operation of the Site. NCF cannot and does not assume any responsibility or liability for any information you submit, or your or third parties' use or misuse of information transmitted or received using NCF tools and services.
NCF provides links to third-party web sites. NCF does not recommend and does not endorse the content on any third-party websites. NCF is not responsible for the content of linked third-party sites, sites framed within the NCF Site, third-party sites provided as search results, or third-party advertisements, and does not make any representations regarding their content or accuracy. When you access our site using Netscape Navigator 6.0 or Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 5.5 or higher, Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology protects your information using both server authentication and data encryption, ensuring that your data is safe, secure, and available only to you and qualified NCF staff members. Your unique NavigateCancerFoundation.org username and password that must be entered each time you log on ensures your privacy and security – do not share this information with anyone.
In addition, NavigateCancerFoundation.org is hosted in a secure server environment that uses a firewall and other advanced technology to prevent interference or access from outside intruders. While we strive to protect your information, no data transmitted over the internet is 100% secure. Therefore we cannot ensure or warrant the security of such information.

Third Party Interests
We do not sell, rent, lease, lend, share or otherwise distribute any information to any third party. We do not share information with any party except the account holder.
Donations transmitted through our website are secure. The NavigateCancer Foundation website uses secure SSL certificates issued by Thawte. Donations made to the NavigateCancer Foundation are transmitted using the same safe and secure 128-bit encryption you would find in any reputable e-Commerce site and is powered by PaySimple (www.paysimple.com).
We only disclose donor information as specifically instructed by the donor and in a manner consistent with the donor’s wishes.
Liability of NCF and its licensors
The use of the NCF Site, Service and Content is at your own risk. When using the NCF Site and/or Service, information will be transmitted over a medium that may be beyond the control and jurisdiction of NCF and its suppliers.
